Movie Review- DADDY

'DADDY' ...a.k.a ARUN GULAB GAWLI.
Yes ! You read it right. He is more known amongst the masses as Daddy than his name.
In recent times biopics have become a mainstream routine in Bollywood. But making Biopics which leave an impact or keeps your mind engaged are few.
After watching Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and M.S. Dhoni the kind of biopic I was expecting out of Daddy was way different.

Today's generation does not really know who Arun was and who he is now. For them to know who he was/is must watch Daddy.

Generation which is going to enjoy the most is that of our parents. They have seen Arun Gawli evolve from a Gangster to now as a  Politician serving his life sentence.

Coming back to the movie, Arjun Rampal couldn't have looked more like Arun Gawli than he looks in the film. He has picked up every habit of Daddy. It might be his diction, baritone or the way he throws a stare. The kind of perfection Arjun Rampal has moved into this film will surely set a benchmark for all the upcoming biopics.
The detailing of the film is bang on. Just to give the film a 'Marathi' touch they have assembled a complete Maharashtrian cast which brings out the typical 'Dagdi Chawl' touch.

A major drawback which is going to affect the ratings are the audibility of the dialogues. Poor. Extremely Poor. Since a few dialogues skip your ears it becomes difficult to keep a track as to what's going on in the film and by the time you are back you have already missed a minor portion of the film.

Apart from the drawback the film is a complete tribute to the Gangster turned politician. Couldn't have been better than this.

Farhan Akhtar's cameo is gripping. The character which is plays is a regular Under World name but comes across every biopic made on a gangster or his collateral rivals.

Finally I give 3.5stars out 5stars for DADDY
*0.5 less for poor audibility*
