Movie Review- SANJU

'SANJU'

Sanjay Dutt- A synonym for Controversy.

Sanjay Dutt- A second name to Drugs.

Sanjay Dutt- A name interchangeably used for being a terrorist.

Sanjay Dutt- A name cursed for making wrong choices.

So..
It was in 2015 when there were talks of a biopic on Sanjay Dutt. Not many really believed there could be any such story on a person who has been an epicenter to so much media attention and public outrage.
A life so sensitive to sentiments of thousands who lost their loved ones and even for those loving their country. Inshort it was a man against thousands calling him a traitor.
But one man believed it could be possible. He was Rajkumar Hirani himself.

Coming back to the film..
Iam going to break my review into two parts.
-- The story and
-- Ranbir Kapoor and the rest of the cast.

THE STORY.
Had the film not been about Sanjay Dutt and his glorious cum controversial life, it was an absolute flat patch. Had it been not a biopic and a commercial masala mix it was sure to have not  been a commercial success and not even amongst the audience.
But here comes the twist- it's all SANJAY DUTT.
What a life this man has been through.
With so much of ups and downs and even when today people disgaree to what the truth, such a film comes to his rescue.
This man has lived numerous personalities in one.

The rest is how we the people perceive him as- A Traitor or A Victim ?

-- RANBIR KAPOOR and others
This man is a treasure of Talent.
Playing some one you are not and trying to imitate at such a crisp levels takes a lot of responsibility, dedication, perception, honesty and sheer dedication.
A standing ovation and a round of applause for Ranbir Kapoor.
For me he bags the best lead actor this year.
So much similarity. So much transparency. So much alertness while playing Dutt.
Not even a tinch of mimicry.
*It felt as Dutt settled in him*

Paresh Rawal and Manisha Koraila have played their parts really really well as Sunil Dutt and Nargis respectively.

My favourite in the entire film after Ranbir Kapoor was none other than Vicky Kaushal. He plays Kumar Gaurav in the film but for privacy purpose the name has been changed.
What a resemblance! What a Friendship!

Anushka Sharma looks beautiful while Dia Mirza playing Manyata Dutt is portrayed a simple loving wife.

Special Attention: Father-Son chemistry.
RKH has ventured into the depth of Sunil Dutt and Baba's father-son chemistry.
A fathers love can never be understood but it can be seen through his actions.
Sunil Dutt represents the entire father community.

The film will open to humongous numbers and is for sure going to be a blockbuster.
Welcome Back Ranbir Kapoor. Glad to have you back Talent.

Finally..
The film gets a 3.5 star out of 5
And
Ranbir Kapoor wiithout any doubt-uncertainty-hesitation gets a 5 out of 5 star.

Movie Review- VEERE DI WEDDING

'VEERE DI WEDDING'

Whenever I have to criticize a film, I never find myself falling short of words, expressions or any term. But! But! But! Veere Di Wedding has done it. How can a movie be so pathetic and raw that finding words to criticize becomes the most difficult task on the planet.

I know many of you won't read the rest of the review after reading the above 'praise'. Still as a job I will review this film. Don't even expect me to be lenient. I have sat in that seat for nearly 135 minutes of my precious life just to witness a piece of idiotic showpiece.

The cast of this film is diverse. On one side you have Swara and Shikha- Then comes Kareena- afterwards the remaining cast and finally agar time bache toh Sonam Kapoor.
Why on Earth does she even act ? Somebody rightnow needs to make her aware that she is an awful actress and must venture into production or film making and spare the audience of her disastrous acting.
Taimur's mother a.k.a Kareen Kapoor in the entire film has smiled for only 2 seconds. The rest of the film I find her scratching and making weird faces.
Swara and Shikha are so smooth. Unused talent because of the poor script and lack of screen space. I feel sorry for them and pity Rhea Kapoor.

The intention of the film is still unclear to me. Why do film makers think showing someone smoking or sleeping around or using unnecessary cuss words makes a movie 'bold' and 'modern'. Absolutely NOT. I was wondering why were the characters in the movie even abusing ? Like it seemed it was forced on them.

The direction is absolutely flawed, blemish, imperfect, limited and every synonym to indicate poor direction. None of the scenes hold grip. By the time you digest 'what just happened' another 'what just happened' scene pops up.

Let me tell you Rhea Kapoor- life is not so easy. Making money is not so easy. Kindly do not influence the younger generation by portraying such nuisance.

Disappointing.
A complete miss from my side.
I wonder how have critics given this film a 3 plus rating.

Finally, I give this film a rating of 1.5 out of 5.

Movie Review- PARMANU

'PARMANU'
In it's literal terms means an Atom- The smallest possible amount of Chemical Element.

Parmanu dates back to the year 1998 when India faced a huge criticism and shame at Global levels due to their failure of conducting unplanned nuclear tests in 1995.

The whole film revolves around a team who dream of making their nation an independent nuclear state.
The test of Pokhran is highly regarded as one of the successful covert missions ever undertaken by India.

Talking about the film, Parmanu itself has a very detailing plot that discussing over the fictional aspect will take away the seriousness and the patriotic aspect of the film.

The cast of film is diverse and when it's John Abraham playing an Agent it's always a treat to watch. He carried himself really well in Uniform and looks absolutely sharp. The rest of the cast is fabulous and it's fun watching them all play their part.
The mix of Real and Reel seems to be a good combination.

Such a movie is not to be missed but any one of us. Such achievements require attention and need to be highlighted. The young generation should know how few minds who did not run behind recognition and laurels left behind an undying mark.

The Pokhran Test left America stunned and rest of the world wondering.
To know how and why - watch the film.

Do not miss.
Finally I give 4 stars out of 5 for Parmanu.

Movie Review- AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR

Avengers: Infinity War
was the most anticipated and most awaited movie of 2018. Since the Civil War there had veen many speculation about the ending of the Avenger series.Without giving any spoilers, lets begin the review.

The Plot- To know what Infinity war really means must have seen or should have an idea of all the previous parts since they all are intertwined and very much connected. As the poster reveals, Thanos the villian of film is behind collecting all the Infinity stones also known as gems in the marvel comics. If he aquires all of them he will be the most powerful on the entire universe.

The Cast- The cast is undoubtedly the elite cast ever assembled. It was a pleasure to watch all the cast in one single film. Right from Iron Man to The Guardians of the Galaxy.

The Story- The story of the film is not quiet difficult to grasp and is heavily paced and rightly edited. The only thing which itches me is that there have been very long intervals between scenes which shouldn't have been done.

The Verdict- Overall the the film is mind blowing and leaves a great impact.

Movie Review- RAEES

SHAH RUKH KHAN In and As ..
'RAEES'

The Most Awaited ! The Most Anticipated Movie finally got a date and a year to flash itself on the silver screen.

I will first begin by saying that, "Had there not been such a powerful cast and so much of commercialisation 'RAEES' as a movie would have gone unnoticed." A bitter fact about this movie.

Getting Actors like SRK and Nawaz on board gave a shape and provided a reason for spectators to go and watch.
By now you guys must have got an idea as to how RAEES would have looked without SRK and others.

The film is set in late 80's and early 90's where bootlegging was a routine. SRK who plays in and as Raees is accompanied by his childhood friend Sadiq(Zeeshan Mohammed) go on to become one of the fierce bootleggers of their time.

The best part of RAEES being the 'dialoguebaazi' and the primitive locations which add to the selling element. I was not really impressed by the songs. There seem to have been no efforts taken on writing and composing suitable songs which go with the nature and composure of the movie. A complete thumbs down for songs.

A major loophole which can be felt and seen is the editing of the scenes. Absolutely raw and noob. I wonder how filmmakers don't really bother to notice such minor issues which affect the entire viewing experience. They thought of showing everything but unfortunately ended up skipping and leaving scenes half done and ready

Looking at the Republic Weekend and it's clash with Kaabil, RAEES's revenue might get affected.
By weekend it should touch the 100cr mark. On the other hand I doubt it will cross 200-250cr mark.

Finally, I give 3 out 5 stars for RAEES.
* Additional half a star for SRK and his entry*
SRKphiles are going to love it.

Movie Review- NAAM SHABANA

'NAAM SHABANA'

I was really surprised when Naam Shabana was announced and adding to my surprise was that it was based on a single character which had less of action and scenes.

Neeraj Pandey being the director of both the films i.e. BABY and NAAM SHABANA there were quiet few things which were repetitive. I don't mean to say in respect of characters, but few action sequences seemed to be like that of Baby.

Taapsee Pannu ! She has been outstanding. She has started to find her own genre of movies and her own place in the industry ! Kudos !

Ajay and Brijmohan as previously played by Akshay Kumar and Anupam Kher respectively are seen playing their characters quiet well. They provide the audience with a taste of nostalgia. Job Well Done.

On the other hand the editing seems to be lethargic which makes the movie watching experience a bit dull. Had the effects and editing been crisp it would have been an add on.
Naam Shabana's story is powerful, makes sense and has link with its predecessor, Baby.

Finally,
Rating: 3/5

Movie Reivew- MOM

'MOM'
Before I even review it, Iam going to give you guys my verdict.
A MUST WATCH ! A MUST WATCH ! A MUST WATCH !
I give 4.5 stars for MOM !

The concept on which the movie is based has been the topic of Trauma, Pain, Consent and Humanity - RAPE.

It's a moment of shame that in a country like India where we worship Female Gods throughout the year for reasons which benefit us has become a centre point or a hub for RAPE cases and their respective victim.

What we see in a movie might be a real case of someone's daughter/wife/mother/friend during her teenage years or even after she gets married.
Abuse does not only mean physically, but even verbal abuse it sort of a RAPE. Anything done without the consent of either of the sex will lead to RAPE.

Coming back to MOM. Iam running out of words. I cannot express what I felt. I cannot elaborate my feelings.
Sridevi Kapoor has lived every scene of this film. She has given everything she could and she will be applauded for her choice of role in MOM. She being a mother has understood what a mother will go through if her daughter was the victim of such inhuman activity.

Akshaye Khanna. The name itself is enough for you guys to know what the guy is made up of ! Acting runs in his blood. He acts when he feels like and leave an impression even though his role might be of a minute.

Now Finally ! Nawazuddin Siddique.
Nawaz Bhai Kahan se latei ho yar itna perfection ? You just blew my mind. The way he acts I doubt any of the handsome hunks from the industry are even near him.
He does not act ! He lives the role. He does not treat his character to be fictitious but someone who is live and will be immortal. Hats off !

The direction is out of this world. Even a routine scene seems so perfectly carved and leaves an impact until you don't leave the theatre. BEAUTY !

DO NOT MISS THIS ONE !! PLEASE DO NOT !
